White gold has nickel added to it to create a white color, but can be a negative to those who are nickel sensitive. However palladium is another metal that is used, it is related to platinum that can be used instead of nickel, although it is more expensive then nickel when used. The Rose or Pink gold is when copper is added to the gold creating a pinks and rose tones. However the more copper that is used the deeper the color. The Green Gold is created when adding silver to gold. Finally, Black hills gold has a nice look of the different colored gold. More then 50% of Black Hills gold uses 10 Karat to 12 Karat gold in all the different shades of alloys the greens, yellows, pinks and roses.

Gold leaf is when pure gold is flattened into sheets and applied by hand; this method usually results in about 3 micro-inches thick. Finally we have vermeil. Vermeil is when gold that is about 15-micro-inches think is applied to sterling through a mechanical process.
